MS Title:
Uncertainty Quantification and Structural Reliability

Description:
Uncertainty quantification and reliability assessment of structures and infrastructure systems subjected to static and dynamic loadings have been of main concern to the civil engineering community and the communities of mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering. However, this topic still remains challenging since the uncertainties are associated with the loadings, as well as with the structural materials and models. Thus, the uncertainty quantification and reliability evaluation of structural systems under aleatory and epistemic uncertainties are very important to ensure their safety. The recent years witness the new progress on advanced uncertainty quantification and static/dynamic reliability analysis methods of nonlinear structures and infrastructure systems. Accordingly, this mini-symposium aims to address the advances on theories and methods of uncertainty quantification and reliability evaluation of structures considering various uncertainties. The scope of the mini-symposium is fairly broad. The contributions of theoretical developments and applications involving systems of engineering interest, which are related to the topics about representation of uncertainty input, uncertainty propagation, random vibration, stochastic structural analysis, reliability assessment and optimum design and so on, are welcome.
